#FORTHEOCEAN
The mission of Sea Shepherd
Our mission is to defend the biodiversity of our oceans and end the destruction of marine ecosystems. We are the only marine conservation organization in the world with a dedicated fleet to combat illegal activities at sea and use innovative direct action tactics to protect marine wildlife around the world from poaching, unsustainable fishing and exploitative captivity.
Unsere Kollektionen
Our sustainable clothing can withstand a lot: Our caps have already been worn in the Antarctic, our shirts can withstand the harsh conditions in the engine room and you are guaranteed to find one of our hoodies in the luggage of every crew member, whether captain or deckhand. You can currently choose from three different collections.
Be An Activist
Choose a classic and wear the same designs as our crew. This collection is made for people who like to roll up their sleeves, lend a hand and support our mission. Many of the characterful designs have accompanied Sea Shepherd for many decades and have become indispensable on board our ships. Whether for the crew or our supporters - this clothing connects like-minded people all over the world.
Ebb & Flow
A coming and going. This collection consists of changing items that are developed and designed in collaboration with various cooperation partners. Here you will find small editions, from clothing to upcycled products that are given a second chance. The selection varies constantly - check to see if your new favorite item is included this time.
Pure & Salty
Discover natural looks and ecological basics for your closet. With our new undyed collection, we are taking a further step towards even more sustainability for our clothing. All products are made from undyed and natural organic cotton. Without the dyeing process, many liters of water and a lot of energy can be saved during production.

Sustainable clothing from responsible production
We take a holistic approach to sustainability. And it is also particularly important to us when it comes to our clothing: we continuously check materials, supply chains and manufacturing partners to minimize our impact on nature and people. Our items are made without animal ingredients and are therefore 100% cruelty-free.
Fair fashion from organic farming
We use certified organic cotton for our fair fashion. Organic cultivation reduces the use of synthetic pesticides and promotes sustainable cultivation methods. By using organic cotton, we can significantly reduce CO₂ emissions as well as energy and water consumption compared to production using conventional cotton. Every fiber in our garments is therefore not only environmentally friendly, but also contributes to fair production and responsible consumption. We therefore combine stylish and durable fashion with a clear commitment to people and nature.
Organic clothing with a clear conscience: Fair and sustainably produced
The origin and production methods of our organic clothing are particularly important to us. That's why we only offer items with recognized sustainability certificates that ensure both fair working conditions and environmental protection. Below you can find out which certifications you can find in our store and what they mean for you and the protection of the oceans.
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
The Global Organic Textile Standard stands for comprehensive ecological and social standards in textile production. GOTS-certified articles use at least 70% organically produced natural fibers and are obliged to comply with environmental and labor law requirements.
Fairtrade (Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International)
The Fairtrade seal ensures fair payment, better working conditions and social improvements in the production regions. Fairtrade also promotes transparent trading structures and local community projects. In addition, certified producers receive a Fairtrade premium, which is specifically invested in local education, health and infrastructure projects
Cradle-to-cradle gold™
The Cradle to Cradle Gold certificate™ stands for the highest ecological standards and a consistent circular economy without waste. It guarantees resource-saving production and fully recyclable, biodegradable textiles that are 100% free of critical substances. When the clothing decomposes, it releases nutrients and returns harmlessly to the natural cycle.
Green button
The Green Button is the official seal of the Federal Republic of Germany for sustainable textiles and is awarded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It verifies both social and ecological minimum requirements along the supply chain. Companies that carry the Green Button must also prove that they take responsibility for people and the environment as an overall organization.

How does fair fashion differ from fast fashion?
Fast fashion is trend-driven and short-lived clothing that is produced in large quantities and sold at very low prices. There is a lack of safe working conditions and fair wages in the production facilities. Unfortunately, child labor is also not uncommon. Inexpensive and unsustainable materials are used in production. This results in a high consumption of resources and a lot of waste is produced.
In contrast, fair fashion relies on longer product cycles and smaller quantities. There is a strong focus on fair working conditions, fair pay and transparent supply chains. Sustainable materials such as organic cotton are preferred and harmful materials such as chemicals are avoided altogether.
